Self Defence Training for Girls

Self-defence not only allows girls to tangibly defend themselves against physical attacks, but it also sparks various benefits to them in everyday life. Girls Education branch of Samagra Shiksha is planning and monitoring the Self-defense training for all girls studying in class 6th to 12th in government schools.A committee is formed in convergense with Home department, Women and child welfare department and Sports department, at state level to prepare the guidelines for implementation of Self defense program. DEOs and DPCs at district level select the program implementation agency to conduct self defence training at schol level. Planning for implementation of the training schedule at schoollevel is done by the School Management Committee (SMC). Three-month self-defense training has been given to all the girls. This includes the training of Judo Karate, Kate Karate, Fight Karate & Archery. Girls trained during self defence training participated in various competitions and won medals at the block level, State level, National level, and International level.
